Early Bird Late Bird

What is Late Bird?
Late Bird is an after school program where students are supervised in designated areas, either a Study room or Play Room. The Study room is structured for a Study Hall which includes time for homework, studying, make-up tests, etc.

What are the Hours for Late Bird?
Late Bird runs Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM. On early release days, Late Bird will run from 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM.

What are the Sign In/Out Procedures?
All students attending Late Bird are required to sign in and out using the Sign In/Out Book. It is imperative that all students sign in so in the event of an emergency-the Late Bird Supervisor can account for all attending students. The Late Bird supervisor will only release students after they have been signed out by a parent/guardian or responsible party listed on the Late Bird Registration Form, or to those indicated on the student’s Emergency Contact form. These dismissal measures are extremely important for the safety of your children.

Where do I pick up my child from Late Bird?
At the time of pick-up, the parent/guardian should enter through the front door and continue to the downstairs Cafeteria to sign his/her student out.

What are the Late Bird rules?
Students are required to follow all school disciplinary rules during Late Bird. We reserve the right to exclude students from the Late Bird Program for disruptive behavior, other misconduct, and for non-payment. Students are not permitted to leave campus and return to Late Bird under any circumstance. Students will be personally responsible for any valuables they choose to bring; however, electronic devices, including cell phones are prohibited.

How do I contact my child in late Bird?
Parents may reach their child after 4:00 PM by calling the Late Bird Phone at (520) 390-1589. Students will also have access to the Late Bird Phone should they need to contact their parent/guardian.

Who is required to pay the fee?
At 4:00 PM, all students remaining in the parking lot will be escorted to Late Bird. Parents have until 4:00 PM to pick up their child with no charge. All students attending the Late Bird Program between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM are charged a Late Bird fee regardless of the amount of time spent in the program or reason for being in the program (e.g. sent to Late Bird because their ride is late to pick them up).

Do I have to pay for Late Bird if my child is in an Extracurricular Activity?
Students that are participating in an extracurricular activity do not need to pay for Late Bird until the activity ends (e.g. Chess starts Sept 1 and ends Oct 1, Late Bird fees will accrue beginning Oct 2).
